What does it good for?
You may agree that in order to evaluate your result, "total" is not the only thing that matters. Two athlets that each of them benched 200 kg, but weight of the first one is 60 kg and of the second is 120 kg are not on the same level. so in this case we need a tool to clculate each of them depending on his stats.
